This post includes information about our recent deplatforming from Indiegogo which we had been using to run a crowdfunding campaign for Comment-Freely.
What is Comment-Freely?
Comment-Freely is open-source software that we are developing to allow commenting anywhere on the Internet. It is free to use by anyone via BitChute or completely independently of BitChute. It is politically neutral in the same way WordPress blogging software can be used by anyone to create a diverse range of websites and services.

Notice Of Suspension
In order to develop this software, we sought voluntary help from our community members. In total, we had raised just under $7000 through an Indiegogo campaign and we were about to collect this money when we received the following email from Indiegogo.
Dated: 29 January 2019
Indiegogo Completely Ignored Us
We replied to Indigogo’s email within thirty minutes of it arriving. At first, we thought it might just be a case of validating our identity which we were prepared to do. In the following days we emailed many more times. None of these emails resulted in a response from Indiegogo and we still have not received a response from their staff.
Our Members Knew Before We Did
Indiegogo still has not directly told us that the campaign has been refunded or even how the campaign violated their terms. We cannot even imagine how an open-source piece of commenting software could do so. We have been kept completely in the dark and we are now considering our next steps including legal action.
I’m sorry to everyone who participated in this crowdfunding campaign and has now had their money refunded to them. Please be assured that this setback will not prevent us from completing this project and we are grateful to you all for your continued support.
